The Brandenburg-Briest solar park is an open- air photovoltaic system on the former Brandenburg-Briest airfield . It is equipped with solar modules from Q-Cells and at the time of its completion it was Europe's largest solar park. It consists of three sections: Brandenburg-Briest Ost, Brandenburg-Briest West and Briest- Havelsee . The sections in Brandenburg each have a peak output of 30 MW, the section in Briest is designed for 31 MW.
383,000 crystalline modules with a module area of 65 ha are arranged at an angle of inclination of 25 degrees on an area of around 200 ha. The modules of the type Q.PEAK, Q.PRO and Q.BASE each have an output of 230–245 W p . 102 inverters are connected to convert the direct current generated from the solar cells . The entire system went into operation in December 2011. The annual output was forecasted to be 89,500 MWh, which corresponds to a forecast average output of around 10 MW over the year.
