Soma Hellinon Proskopon ( Σώμα Ελληνων Προσκόπων, ΣΕΠ ; Association of Greek Scouts ) is the national scout association of Greece . Scouting in Greece began in 1910. The association was a founding member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1922 and in 2010 had 17,658 members. The majority of the members belong to the Greek Orthodox Church . However, boys and girls of all religious and ethnic groups, provided they are resident in Greece, can join the association.

During the Olympic Games in London in 1908 , the young sports teacher Athanasios Lefkaditis watched with interest the efforts of the British Boy Scouts . He met with Robert Baden-Powell and introduced the Boy Scout Movement in Greece in 1910. The scouts of Greece were and are always active in social aid and relief operations in the event of natural disasters such as large fires and earthquakes.
