Hydra Special Command

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hydra special command , also known as the 1st Hydra Flotilla , was a special unit of the German navy that was set up shortly before the end of World War II .

The association was assigned to the small combat associations of the Kriegsmarine and consisted of a flotilla of 39 hydra miniature speedboats , which were named after the mythological serpent Hydra . In the spring of 1945, the flotilla was ready for action, but was no longer used due to the tumbling events. Their units capitulated on May 8, 1945 in Glücksburg in the Flensburg Fjord .
