Sonea: Die Heilerin (English original title: The Traitor Spy 2: The Rogue ) is a fantasy novel by Trudi Canavan . It is part of Canavan's series about the fantasy world of Kyralia and is the second sequel to the trilogy The Guild of Black Mages .

action

The Sonea series is the sequel to the trilogy "The Guild of Black Magi". In this part the story from the first volume "Sonea: The Guardian" is continued.

The volume is divided into three main acts. The first storyline revolves around the events in Kyralia. There Sonea is still looking for the mysterious thief who, using magic, tries to usurp the rule of the underworld of Kyralia. The plot then turns into a side story about the two novices Naki and Lilia, who first discover love for one another and then deal with black magic. After the murder of Naki's (step-) father and the guild's condemnation of the two, the plot initially focuses on the incarceration of Lilias with the wild magician Lorandra and their escape together. The storylines are then brought back together when Sonea finds Lilia and brings her back to the guild.

The second major storyline revolves around Lorkin's experiences with the traitors, his experiences and difficulties in integrating into their society and his love for one of the traitors. The plot culminates in his kidnapping and his subsequent release from the rebel quarters by the traitors with the order to return to Imardin to negotiate an alliance with the guild of mages. He had previously been taught the art of higher magic (black magic) as compensation for the knowledge about healing magic stolen from him through mind reading, in order to instruct him in the art of creating magical stones.

The third storyline deals with the experiences of the guild ambassador Dannyl in Sachaka. The ambassador has fallen sharply in social standing due to the abandoned search for Lorkin. As the plot progresses, his relationship with his former mate Tayend and his new potential mate Ashaki Achati come to the fore. As a framework, Dannyl continues his research into the creation of magical stones and the formation of the wasteland as well as the history of magic in general, which eventually leads him, together with his two friends, to Duna, where the tribal leaders give him some secrets reveal. He transmits this knowledge to the administrator Osen in his hometown Imardin using his blood stone. This creates a connection between this storyline and Sonea's.

As the book's finale, the novice Naki is executed by the guild for murdering her stepfather using black magic. The book ends with the allusion that Cery's hiding place has been discovered.
