Sun wax melter
A sun wax melter is a beekeeping device that is used in beekeeping to produce beeswax . With this honeycombs are melted down again.
A sun wax melter usually consists of a wooden box with a slate of slate attached at the bottom. The top cover must be well insulated and consist of a double pane of glass or a web plate made of transparent plastic. A honeycomb cut out of the frame is placed on the slate . The solar wax melter is set up at an angle and aligned with the sun. Sufficient heat is then generated under the cover pane to melt the beeswax contained in the honeycomb. The liquid wax runs into a removable plastic tub filled with a little water in the lower area of the sun wax melter.
The device is used to extract raw wax from honeycombs that are no longer used in the beehive . The greatest wax yield is found in younger yellow to light brown honeycombs. On the other hand, it is difficult to recover wax from old black honeycombs because it remains in the cocoon skins .
