Body sociology
The body sociology or sociology of the body is a special sociology in which the interdependence of body and society is examined.
In body sociology it is assumed that social values and norms, systems of knowledge and ideas, structures and technologies shape the human body. The body is understood as a basic category of the sociological theory of action . The central question of this sociology is how social reality is created and represented through physical practices.
