Space Channel 5 is a series of music video games developed by United Game Artists under the direction of Tetsuya Mizuguchi and published by Sega . The principle of the game is that the player has to imitate predetermined sequences of dance steps by pressing the appropriate keys.

Space Channel 5

Space Channel 5 was first released in Japan for the Dreamcast console on December 16, 1999. It was later released in the US on June 6, 2000 and in Europe on October 8, 2000. The game received a budget release in Japan on December 21, 2000 in simpler packaging. In 2002 Space Channel 5 was ported for the PlayStation 2 . It was released in Europe on March 15, 2002 and in Japan on December 12, 2002. In the US, it was released on November 18, 2003 as Space Channel 5 Special Edition .

Space Channel 5: Part 2

Space Channel 5: Part 2 was released in Japan on February 14, 2002 for both Dreamcast and PlayStation 2. The PS2 version was released in Europe on February 12, 2003, and in the US as part of a special edition along with the first part on November 18, 2003. In Japan a Space Channel 5 Part 2 Limited Edition was released with a carrying case and large headphones .

The point system was different from the first game. Steps could now be loaded by holding down a button, and instrumental battles were introduced, which can be disputed with the control pad .

Space Channel 5: Ulala's Cosmic Attack was released in 2003 for Game Boy Advance as part of an agreement with THQ .
