Spatial Data Transfer Standard

The Spatial Data Transfer Standard ( SDTS ) is a container data format for geographic information created by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) in which all information held by the USGS can be stored. An SDTS file contains information about the data stored in it, so that appropriate display programs can determine all parameters for a meaningful display of the data.
