Locking element

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A blocking element ( SpE ) is used in a burglar alarm system ( BAS ) to prevent accidental opening of entrances to the secured area when the BAS is armed . It is therefore used to avoid false alarms . Locking elements are installed in addition to the existing door lock .

functionality

It is usually installed in the door frame . When the EMA is armed, the locking element moves out a locking pin electromagnetically or by an electric motor, which engages in a recess in the door leaf . This avoids accidentally triggering an alarm if you forget to disarm. The locking bolt usually has a predetermined breaking point and can be destroyed with moderate force in order to be able to enter the secured object in an emergency.
