Sphericity

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sphericity basically describes how strong or whether an object is spherical .

  • Sphericity (geology) : a parameter of how well a body approximates the shape of a sphere.
  • Sphericity (statistics) : In statistics, an n -variate population is called spherical if all variances match and the correlations disappear, which can be checked for sphericity with the Bartlett test .
  • Sphericity (graph theory) : the minimum dimension n , so that a graph can be represented as an intersection graph of a family of congruent spheres in .
  • Sphericity (algebra) : An algebraic G variety X (to a group G ) is called spherical if a Borelian subgroup operates from G on X and has a dense orbit.
  • Sphericity (particle physics) : a parameter in accelerator experiments, how well the geometric shape of collision events corresponds to the shape of a sphere.
