Spin line

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The spin limit or spin limit is a term used in spinning technology and yarn production . It describes the maximum yarn count that can be achieved using spinning technology; the finest, technically possible spinning. By calculating the spinning limit, assessments of the production and material properties of a yarn can be made in advance of production. The spinning limit depends on the spinning process, the fiber type and the number of fibers in the yarn cross-section. The fewer fibers there are in the cross-section of a yarn or the closer it is to the calculated spinning limit, the worse its technical properties are likely to be. The yarn unevenness increases towards the spinning limit.
