Splint boots are "protectors" for the legs of horses . The German name is gaiters .

Splint boots are particularly used in western equestrian sports so that the horses can do exercises such as horse riding . B. Sliding stops (the horse brakes abruptly with the hind legs from full gallop ) do not suffer any injuries and the legs are supported during this extraordinary strain. Splint boots can be made of sturdy plastic or leather . They should be softly padded on the inside and provided with a flexible “smooth leather spoon” on the outside.
