Punch

A punch (also known as a pin punch ) is a tool that consists of a handle with a long, usually cylindrical pin (in this form also called a pin punch or pin punch ). It is used to drive in or out rivets , pins , spring pins, bolts and other fasteners.

Punch

The punch (also called punch) is a special form of punch, the pin of which is slightly conical, but mostly with a flat tip. This shape is used in forging to punch holes in red-hot metal.

This shape is not to be confused with the grain , the tip of which is pointed and would deform under pressure at high temperatures.
