Spot repair

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Spot repair is a smart repair method for paint damage on vehicles.

Small to medium damaged paint on the vehicle body are at points (point = engl. Spot ) patched - usually without dismantling the affected parts directly on the vehicle. Special mixing systems allow the closest possible approximation to the original color. The aim of the spot repair is the most perfect repair possible with minimal effort.

There are limits, however. A wedge-shaped transition from the new to the old paint layer is created. This transition therefore ends at "0". There is a risk that the paint film will tear off during polishing work and a visible edge will appear.

Advantages of this technique:

  • short workshop time
  • Cost savings
  • lower material consumption, therefore more environmentally friendly
  • possibly mobile service possible
