Spree (student newspaper)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Spree ( Studenten Presse Berlin ) is one of the highest-circulation student newspapers in the Berlin and Potsdam regions (up to 40 A4 pages). The magazine was founded in 1995 by four students from the TU Berlin, including Florian Diesing and Sebastian Weiß, who since 2013 has also been the publisher of the nationwide university magazine Uniglobale .

The magazine is not tied to any university and the editorial team is made up of students from a wide variety of disciplines and universities. The editorial team usually consists of around 20 students. Production, layout and editing are supervised by students and supported by former employees.

In autumn 2005 "bus" merged with the then newly founded "Spree - Studentenpresse Berlin". Since autumn 2009 “bus” has been published under the title “spree - Studenten Presse”. The edition is 30,000 copies. At least two issues appear per semester. The magazine is distributed free of charge: at universities in Berlin and Potsdam as well as in cafés and pubs.

content

Since the autumn 2005 issue, every issue has had a cover story with at least two double pages. In addition, there is a rather extensive cultural section, a career section, which at times contained a job exchange, and a current section that mainly offers news from the Berlin and Potsdam universities. In addition to articles and reports, the magazine contains numerous interviews, for example with bands “ Wir sind Helden ”, university presidents or Berlin's former mayor Klaus Wowereit .
