SsS is a German software package that offers the most important univariate statistical test procedures . The commercial program is mainly used to investigate scientific issues in higher education.

history

The origins of the program go back to 1989, when the first method for the statistical evaluation of measured values on Commodore computers emerged. In July 1998 13 test procedures, which were mostly missing in the software packages available at the time, were brought onto the market as SsS 1.0 by Rubisoft GmbH. It was intended as a supplement to existing statistical software. In response to repeated user requests, the program package has since been greatly expanded so that version 2.0, which appeared in September 2009, covers the most important univariate methods and also displays some results graphically.

Range of functions

In addition to many parametric and non-parametric standard tests with one- and two-sided questions , SsS offers some otherwise difficult to find methods such as:

Intuitive usability has always been ensured. On request, the program formulates the corresponding hypotheses for all procedures , tests the necessary requirements, specifies the respective sample size and comments on the results. If it is possible with a reasonable expenditure of time, the exact probability of error is given.
