St. James's Gate FC is an Irish football club currently playing in the fifth-tier Sunday Senior 1A League .

St. James's Gate FC was founded in 1902 and was named as the football division of the Guinness Sports Club after St. James's Gate Brewery.
The club was a founding member of the League of Ireland . In 1922 he won the first championship held. The team also won the FAI Cup premiere in the same year . Until 1940 , start a new title, a runner-up title in the championship, and two runners-up in the Cup competition followed. After the 1943/44 season was completed in last place, the league refused to participate in the following season , and the team was relegated to the Leinster Senior League .
In 1990 St. James's Gate FC rose to the second-rate First Division , but had to retire from professional operations due to financial problems before the start of the 1996/97 season . The club's first team currently plays in the fifth-rate Sunday Senior 1A League .
