St. Marien in Streufdorf

The listed Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Mary is in Streufdorf , a district of the Straufhain community in the Hildburghausen district ( Thuringia ).

The the townscape formative choir tower is their oldest part of the now 33-meter-high bell tower, the Romanesque arched windows has. From 1570 to 1578, the choir was approximately three meters long and five meters wide in the east in the late Gothic style. The church nave, which is almost 18 meters long and around ten meters wide, was built in the west between 1706 and 1709. It is spanned by a multi-panel painted wooden barrel and has a three-sided, two-storey gallery.

The organ, with a remarkable baroque front on the second floor of the western gallery, was created in 1737 by the Hildburghausen organ builder Johann Christian Dotzauer .
