St. Nicholas (Steinbach)
St. Nikolaus is a Roman Catholic private chapel in Steinbach , Upper Swabia , a district of Breitenbrunn .
The chapel until 1803
The chapel on the hill near Einödhof Steinbach, first mentioned in 1393, was given a sacristan's house around 1610. A new Mariahilfaltar was mentioned in 1984. The chapel was demolished in 1803.
Today's chapel
Today's chapel was rebuilt in 1962 on the old square according to a design by the parish priest of Marktoberdorf, Kaspar Bergler.
It is a flat-roofed building with a four-sided polygonal end. In the west there is a small roof turret with an onion hood. The altarpiece shows St. Nicholas and is signed “F. Hartmann ”. The wooden crucifix was made around 1520.
