St. Peter and Paul

The Protestant village church of St. Peter and Paul is in the community of Sonneborn in the Gotha district in Thuringia .

history

The first stone church is said to have been built in the south-west of Sonneborn in the year 1000 . It was surrounded by a stone wall. The location was surrounded by a moat and a wall made of clay.

Today the church is located inside the Gottesackers .

The nave has valuable stained glass windows, an old pulpit, a gallery and an organ from an unknown organ builder.
