St. Sebastian (Aachen-Hörn)
The Catholic parish St. Sebastian Aachen-Hörn belongs to the community of parishes (GdG) Aachen-Nord-West St. Philipp-Neri and is located in the Aachen district of Hörn.

The parish church was designed by the architect in 1954 Alfons Leitl built and on August 7 of the same year benediziert . It has around 300 seats. Because of its unusual roof in the shape of a regular wave, the horns have given the church the nickname of St. Lockwell .
history
On November 16, 1934, the foundation stone for the "Auf der Hörn" settlement for large families was laid. Most of the new settlement was assigned to the parish of Heilig Kreuz, the area on Melatener Strasse and the Königshügel to the parish of St. Jakob . Since 1947, the community was initially looked after by a pastor seconded by St. Kreuz. Two years later, the city of Aachen made a site available to her, on which the community could build a wooden barrack as an emergency church, which was inaugurated on January 23, 1949 by Bishop Johannes Joseph van der Velden . However, several years passed before the construction of a new and permanent church could begin at the end of 1952, the foundation stone of which was taken from the mother church of the Holy Cross and laid on Easter Monday 1953.
Later a small wayside shrine was set up on the street Am Hörnhang , which is supposed to remind of the parish and its parish patron St. Sebastian.
Oratorio
In the community there is an oratory , that is, a spiritual community in the tradition of St. Philip Neri.
Parish area
The parish area includes the Hörn district of the city of Aachen. The church is located on Ahornstrasse, central to the district, directly at the Halifaxstrasse bus stop .
Within the parish are, among other things, the Montessori children's house ( kindergarten ), the Catholic primary school on the Hörn (Kgs auf der Hörn), the Philipp-Neri-Haus (children and youth center) and Haus Hörn (center for the elderly, hospice, day care and physical therapy).
