description

The church building, built in 1938, is located on South Crescent Road , the Ardrossans quayside on the Firth of Clyde . As an architect, Jack Coia , partner in the architecture firm Gillespie, Kidd & Coia , was responsible for the design. This is considered one of his most academic designs and is inspired by the architecture of Stockholm City Hall . The masonry is made of brick and the gable roof is covered with tiles. A decorative brick pattern adorns the ogival main portal on the simply designed south side. It is flanked by two small pointed arched windows. A smaller, copper lantern with an octagonal floor plan sits on the flat bell tower . The interior is very simply designed with cream-colored plastering and an altar made of different colored marble elements.
