The STEG - State capture Society for Public Good mb H. (Munich) was after the Second World War trustee of public good and lost not only the authority of the country Council and the provincial governments , but also the control of the military government and army.

In the summer of 1946, the "Society for the collection of armaments mbH" (GER) was founded in Germany by the countries of the US zone . In the late summer of 1947, this was renamed the “State Collection Company for Public Goods mbH (STEG)”. By renaming, the character as a state institution should be emphasized more.

One of the tasks of this society was the collection and civilian utilization of goods of the former armed forces , later also those of the allied armed forces. This included textiles, clothing and shoes. These should be reworked and given away at affordable prices. The aim was to compensate for supply shortages and counteract price increases. Later goods were also acquired in the USA, which, however, were to be resold at the highest possible price. Nevertheless, the economic administration paid more money for the goods than it received.

The goods were only in demand in the first few years. After the currency reform at the latest , they lost their importance. However, the STEG existed until around 1952.

Kurt Magnus was a member of the supervisory board and later chairman of the company.
