State Cup of Paraná

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Paraná State Cup (Taça FPF) is the football association cup of the Paraná state in Brazil . It has been organized with several interruptions by the National Federation of Federação Paranaense de Futebol (FPF) since 1998.

The winner of the state cup qualifies alongside the top three finishers in the first division of the state championship for the national cup competition of Brazil, the Copa do Brasil . If a club has won both the championship and the cup in one season, the defeated cup finalist receives the starting place for the Copa do Brasil. In times when the cup competition does not take place, his starting place goes to the fourth place in the first state league. In 2007 and 2008, the winner also qualified for the South Brazilian Super Cup.
