The Brilon City Library is a city ​​library at Gartenstrasse 13 in Brilon . It was founded in 1979. In 2010 there were 160,391 loans, in 2015 there were 141,908, of which 11.2% were e-books.

Since the spring of 2015, the library has been a member of the zdi network for the Hochsauerlandkreis educational region to promote MINT subjects . She also cooperates with the Goethe Institute in Munich and the regional institutes in Zagreb and Prague, and since 2015 with the library headquarters in Groningen. In January 2016, the information and advice center of the Fernuniversität Hagen moved into the premises of the city library.

With the 2015/2016 school year, a “media mobile” delivery service was introduced, where teachers can order media boxes in cooperation with the Ratmerstein primary school.
