The Stadtwerke Rendsburg GmbH is a municipal utility company of the city of Rendsburg , based at Rendsburg Obereiderhafen.

Field of activity

The company is active in Rendsburg and Büdelsdorf in the business areas of electricity and district heating supply and under the brand EiderKom.de in the area of telecommunications (broadband). The municipal utilities also operate their own hydropower plant and two storage pumping stations. In addition to Rendsburg and Büdelsdorf, numerous other surrounding communities are also supplied with drinking water. Due to the liberalization of the nationwide electricity market in 1999, electricity and gas tariffs are also offered in many other parts of Schleswig-Holstein. Wastewater disposal Rendsburg

In the course of the conversion of the previous in-house operation of Stadtwerke Rendsburg into the company form GmbH , the Rendsburg wastewater disposal, which was previously part of the joint municipal own operation, was retained as an independent operation of the city of Rendsburg with effect from January 1, 2000. The management of wastewater disposal in Rendsburg, in particular for the areas of human resources and commercial management, was transferred to Stadtwerke Rendsburg GmbH by concluding an agreement with the city of Rendsburg. The plant manager corresponds to the managing director of the Stadtwerke.
