Staff accommodation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As Staff Accomodation (often abbreviated colloquially as "Staff Accom"), a property referred to an employee is provided by the associated apparatus. Typically, the employment contract stipulates the conditions under which the employee can use the accommodation.

Staff accommodation is a frequently used principle in North America to organize the accommodation of seasonal workers . Typically, staff accommodation is also an advertising medium for employers, since living space is very scarce in densely populated or tourist areas. In order to counteract this and to be able to attract staff despite the expensive cost of living, staff accommodations in these areas guarantee living space for the staff. In national parks, in which the creation of living space is subject to strict conditions, staff accommodations are often part of normal urban planning. The types of accommodation are varied. From multi-bed rooms to your own apartments, everything is possible. Often it also depends on the respective position in the company or the marital status which accommodation is offered. Accommodation can be offered both on the company premises (e.g. in the hotel, on site staff accommodation) or in external buildings (off site staff accommodation). In some cases, typically in the hotel and catering sector, meals and special extras can also be offered in the staff accommodation. The employers themselves bear the costs of setting up staff accommodations. However, considerable rental income can also be generated from this, as the employees do not live there for free. This means that the cost of rent can usually be deducted directly from the salary, and the employer therefore has to pay less monthly. The costs for the tenant in Canada are between 10 and 20 Canadian dollars per night, but the costs vary extremely depending on the type of accommodation and the region.
