Standard service book

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The standard service book for the construction industry (StLB) serves the rational description of construction services and the exchange of information between the partners involved in the construction. Construction work is described in a standardized manner for tendering, awarding and billing AVA, broken down into service areas .

The text collections have been published as a separate book in printed form for each service area since the late 1960s. Since 1997 the texts have been recorded in databases and the maintenance of the printed editions was gradually discontinued.

A distinction is made between the use for specific construction projects (standard service book for construction) and smaller construction work that cannot be planned at short notice, such as repairs, conversions, etc. (standard service book for temporary contract work).

StLB standard service book for the construction industry

With StLB, standard service book for the building industry, paperback book editions are called. The content of these booklets consists of tables. In the table columns T1 to T5 there is a coding, in the following columns the unit, the long text and the short text. The content of these books was later published almost identically in the form of text files. Using these files and the corresponding software, users could compile tender texts by entering the T1 - T5 number. These books have not been reprinted since around 2000. The files with the 80 data record are no longer maintained.

STLB-Bau -Dynamic construction data-

As the successor to the StLB, the STLB-Bau has been published by the Joint Electronics in Building Committee (GAEB ), the main committee of the German Award and Contract Committee for Building Services (DVA), since 1997 . The STLB-Bau is no longer offered in book form. In the STLB construction, text modules are stored in proprietary data structures. A program module is part of the STLB-Bau. After calling up the program module, service descriptions can be created. These can then be printed out and included in tenders. Alternatively, the service descriptions can be downloaded as GAEB files and made available to companies. They can then read the data into their calculation programs. There are currently service descriptions for 77 trades:

On the one hand, the term STLB-Bau describes the technical content. From a technical point of view, the term STLB-Bau is often used to describe the corresponding program module.

With the online solution, service descriptions can be created in the browser.

STLB-BauZ - standard service book for temporary contract work

The standard service book for temporary contract work is the file and paper form of a collection of texts for tendering texts. Compared to the STLB, this text collection is simpler and not as extensive. There were around 70 trades for the STLB. This collection of texts currently contains texts for 28 service areas. In addition, the individual services in this collection of texts are not described in as much detail as in the STLB. In contrast to the STLB, the code is limited to T1-T3. This restriction enables a clearer presentation in book form. Due to the restrictions, the use of these texts is restricted by law to smaller construction projects. For such construction projects, contracts are often concluded that do not relate to a specific project, but rather all services that arise in a certain period of time. The term contract work is derived from this. Since 2008 the data of the STLB-BauZ have also been available as GAEB files.

Trivia

The text collections published in paper form up to approx. 2000 - a separate book was published for each service area - were colloquially referred to as yellow notebooks because of their yellow cover.
The first files were also referred to as "80 data records" due to the maximum possible 80 characters per line at the time.
