Sculpture Johannes Trithemius between the old and new Moselle bridge. Trittenheim

The statue of Johannes Trithemius in Trittenheim was created by the local sculptor Walter Hennig in honor of the important abbot and scholar Johannes Trithemius, who was born in the town in 1462 .

The bronze sculpture shows a life-size seated man in medieval scholarly robe with a scholar's cap and an open book on his knees. The figure rests on an approximately 1.20 meter high base with the coat of arms and an inscription "Johannes Trithemius 1462 1516".

The monument, unveiled in front of the parish church on August 11, 1962, was moved in 1967 to the transition between the old and new Moselle bridge.
