Launch title

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As a launch title or start title refers to computer games , the same time as a new game console to hit the market. It is not uncommon for these games to be largely responsible for the success or failure of the respective console.

Most of these titles include sequels of games that are already very well known and popular, and for that reason alone attract a lot of attention to themselves and the new console ( PlayStation 2 : Tekken Tag Tournament as a continuation of the Tekken series for the PlayStation ; Wii : The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess as a continuation of the Zelda series; PlayStation Portable : wipEout Pure as a continuation of the wipEout series).

There are also new brands among them, such as B. Halo: The fight for the future of Bungie Studios , one of the most commercially successful computer games of all time and one of the main contributors to the success of Xbox .
