Berlin State Statistical Office

The Berlin State Statistical Office worked until December 31, 2006 as a special authority for the State of Berlin in the Senate Department for Interior Affairs. The head of the state office was also the state returning officer. Further details are regulated in the law on statistics in the state of Berlin (Landesstatistikgesetz LStatG) of 9 December 1992 (GVBl. P. 365).

Since January 1, 2007, the Berlin State Statistical Office and the Statistics Department of the Brandenburg State Office for Data Processing and Statistics have been united to form a public law institution called the Berlin-Brandenburg Statistics Office .
