Kozłowa Góra (also Jezioro Świerklaniec ) is a reservoir on the northern edge of the Upper Silesian Plate in the Silesian Voivodeship , Poland . In many maps the reservoir is called Jezioro Świerklaniec (Eng. Świerklaniec Lake) .

geography

The name of the lake is derived from Kozłowa Góra, a district of Piekary Śląskie , which is located at the southern end of the lake. The dam is also located there. The process is located in the area of Gmina Bobrowniki . To the west of the lake is the Świerklaniec municipality and to the north and east of the Niezdara and Ossy districts of the Ożarowice municipality . The reservoir was created by damming the Brynica River .

history

The reservoir was built between 1935 and 1939 as part of "Obszar Warowny Śląsk". Due to the water scarcity in Upper Silesia, the reservoir was converted into a drinking water reservoir from 1948 to 1951 and a water treatment plant was built nearby.
