Standing youth

The Standing youth is a statuette of terracotta in the National Antiquities Collections in Munich with the inventory number 162 SL, formerly in the collection of James Loeb . Its origin is in the year 325-300 BC. Dated.

The statuette shows a young man standing on a two-tiered base. He is clothed with a belted chiton and himation . He holds the elegantly overturned fabric with both hands. The head is tied with a band and covered with a low round hat cap. The right hand is enveloped. In this hand he was probably holding a stick, as we can assume from the round borehole. The statuette, made of reddish brown clay, measures 30.7 cm high and comes from Boeotia.
