Steinfeldhof

The Steinfeldhof , also called Hof am Grazer Feld , is a noble farm that is completely built into the former Reininghaus brewing complex in Graz . Its history goes back to the 17th century.

history

The farm was first mentioned in 1617 when Hans Verdting sold it to Bernhardt Freundt. Anna Prunner brought the farm into her possession through the aristocratic claim rights . In 1632 it was sold by Georg Leopold Freiherrn von Stadl. He was followed by Georg Schissek and later by his widow. Schissek's widow bequeathed the farm to her two children in 1668, but this led to inheritance disputes. Due to the inheritance dispute, the children had to sell the farm to Wilhelm Graf Schrottenbach. In 1750 the farm was owned by Franz Pinter and was called the "Mauthaus am Steinfeld". Pinter's son-in-law Johann Paul Hemetter inherited the farm. Hemetter's widow Maria Anna brought the farm with her to her second marriage to Franz Schott in 1763. Franz Schott built the "Schott'sche Brauhaus" on the grounds of the farm. From 1825 it was owned by Karl Königshofer. On August 10, 1853, the brewery became the property of Johann Peter Reininghaus and was completely rebuilt.
