Boleycarrigeen stone circle
The stone circle of Boleycarrigeen (also called The Griddle Stones ) is located in the townland of Boleycarrigeen ( Irish Buaile an Charraigín ) north of Kiltegan, east of Baltinglas in County Wicklow in Ireland .
The stone circle lies on a low west-east oriented ridge with a wide view on all sides. The circle is about 13.5 m in inner diameter and consists of eleven stones 1.3 to 1.8 m apart. There are no stones in the northwest and east quadrants. The 1.3 m wide entrance is on the southwest side, and the stones seem to rise in height from the 1.3 m high entrance stones. The highest stones are 1.4 to 1.88 m on the northeast side. The circle is on the inner edge of a 1.75 to 2.0 m wide and 0.4 m high earth wall.
