It was created in 2002 from the merger of the death fund of the Evangelical Free Churches VVaG with the funeral fund of the Evangelical Methodist Church . The death fund of Evangelical Free Churches was founded in Berlin in 1896 as a contribution fund for the Baptists , the funeral fund of the Evangelical Methodist Church was established shortly after the end of the Second World War.
