Saxerriet Prison

The Saxerriet prison is a prison for men in the Swiss town of Salez .

With 130 inmate places, the prison is “the largest in terms of occupancy capacity in the semi-open / open prison within the Eastern Swiss prison concordat ”.

Saxerriet Prison opened in 1925. 1962-64 it was extended by three flat roof buildings made of concrete with 177 occupants. An extension was built from 1998 to 2002 and the facility was renewed.
