Klagenfurt lido

The Klagenfurt lido is one of the largest inland lakes in Europe. Originally opened in 1924 and expanded several times since then, it is located on the east bank of Lake Wörth in Klagenfurt . Here, in front of the Klagenfurt Bay (eastern bay), the lake reaches its maximum width of 1.7 km.

The lido is easy to reach via the A2 motorway and the city bus routes. The A1 Beach Volleyball Grand Slam took place there until 2016 . The Ironman Austria swimming competition has been taking place in the lido since 1998 . The operator of the lido, as well as the surrounding smaller pools (Strandbad Maria Loretto and Strandbad Maiernigg), are the Klagenfurt public utilities .
