The Strandsolbad is a natural, urban outdoor pool in the city of Staßfurt in Saxony-Anhalt . The middle syllable "Sol" comes from the high salt content of the lake, it has an average salt content ( salinity ) of 2.1% by mass.

history

The beach brine bath was created as a result of a daybreak in the Leopoldshall salt works at the end of the 19th century. On May 25, 1929 it became a public swimming pool. The artificial lake is 125 meters long and 104 meters wide. The deepest point measures around 20 meters.

The Strandsolbad is the only indoor golf swimming pool in Central Europe. The Strandsolbad Staßfurt has a beach with adjacent lawns; It also has a swimming platform with a slide and a playground, as well as a snack bar with a sun terrace. The season begins at the beginning of May until the end of the season at the beginning of September (depending on the weather).
