Remarks

As with several other works that were or are said to have been created during Johann Strauss' trip to America, the authorship of the Viennese composer is controversial or doubtful. There are more facts against Johann Strauss as the composer of this work than in favor. The publisher George Willig & Co submitted the registration of the work to the Library of Congress only three years after Strauss' trip to the USA . Strauss is not explicitly mentioned as a composer. The piano reduction then disappeared in the archives of the Congress Library until it was rediscovered in 1983. A musical analysis came to the conclusion that the work was of significantly inferior quality than even average works by Strauss. For these reasons the question of the composer of this waltz, who is still attributed to Johann Strauss, must remain open.

The playing time on the CD listed under individual records is 8 minutes and 6 seconds. Depending on the musical conception of the conductor, this time can change by up to a minute plus or minus.
