Route control

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Point controls are a variant of CNC controls and as such in the workpiece handling and in the control of simple machine tools in use. The feed movement is only ever possible in one axis , the movement of which is influenced in type and speed, all other axes can be positioned beforehand, but stand still during processing. With pattern controls, only axis-parallel feed movements are usually possible.

A line control is also used to let processing units of a throughfeed machine use the moment the workpiece passes the unit. This is a combination of path and PTP control , since the feed movement of the axis itself is not controlled, but the points of use of point-to-point-controlled tools on the path-controlled axis are determined on the basis of the precalculated path.

With the aid of the programming unit, the activation and deactivation times are programmed. The time measurement is started by the workpiece passing a sensor in the machine inlet. Before this type of route control was used, units on throughfeed machines were activated by passing limit switches.
