Street Sharks is an American animated series from 1994 and 1995.

action

Mad scientist Dr. Luther Paradigm experiments with animal DNA and tries to combine it with human DNA. His competitor Dr. Robert Bolton wants to end these experiments and invades his laboratory. He can't stop Dr. Paradigm injected a serum into a lobster and swordfish . Paradigm injects a large dose of the serum into Bolton. While Bolton transforms into an inhuman being, he escapes from the laboratory. Meanwhile, the lobster and swordfish mutate into hybrids . Slopster the lobster and Slash the swordfish are born and become Paradigm's loyal henchmen.

When John, Coop, Bobby and Clint Bolton hear of their father's disappearance, they make their way to Paradigm. Before they can interrogate Paradigm, they are caught and taken to the laboratory. Paradigm injects the brothers with a shark serum, which causes them to pass out. Slopster and Slash are supposed to get rid of the supposed corpses, but soon they wake up again and turn into shark mutants. Her appearance panics the citizens of Fission City. For Paradigm, it is confirmation that his experiment has been successful.

The mutated Bolton sons call themselves the Street Sharks and are then captured by Paradigm and a special unit. Paradigm has the press believe that the Bolton sons were transformed by their own father and are now murderous monsters. Even before the Street Sharks get under the knife, they are rescued by Paradigm's assistant Lena Mack and the technical genius Bends. Since then they have taken up the fight against Paradigm and not only want to get back their human form, but also to find their missing father. After a short time, however, Paradigm creates two more henchmen: Killamari the octopus and Repteel, a mixture of human, moray eel and electric eel.

Paradigm has decided to turn all humans into monsters, who alone should obey him. The Street Sharks not only have to master their enormous powers, but also their great appetites.

Characters

The Street Sharks

John Bolton (Ripster)

John Bolton is the loosest of his brothers and his greatest hobby is inventing technical devices. He becomes a mutated great white shark and calls himself a Ripster. He is the leader of the Street Sharks.

Bobby Bolton (Streex)

Bobby Bolton likes to think of himself as cool. He enjoys parachuting and rollerblading. He becomes a mutated tiger shark and is called Streex.

Coop Bolton (Slammu)

Coop Bolton is the strongest of his brothers and a passionate athlete. He becomes a mutated whale shark and calls himself Slammu. He can create earthquakes when he hits the ground with his arms.

Clint Bolton (Jab)

Clint Bolton tends to be lazy but has an excellent knack for mechanics. He becomes a mutated hammerhead shark and is called a jab.

Allies

Dr. Robert Bolton

He is the father of John, Coop, Bobby and Clint. He was led by Dr. Paradigm transformed into an inhuman monster. You don't see his mutated shape in the whole series. He secretly helps his mutated sons. Dr. Paradigm branded him an unscrupulous scientist by letting the press believe he was the mad scientist who did not shy away from his own sons.

Lena Mack

She was the assistant of Dr. Paradigm and had long suspected that Paradigm was up to no good. She saved the Street Sharks and becomes their main ally. She tries to help the Sharks as best she can.

Bends

He is the technical genius at Fission City University and a good friend of the Bolton sons. He stands by the Street Sharks and provides them with technical aids. He had made their special motorbikes for the Street Sharks and set up a secret hideout under the university's ice hockey rink.

Jets (Moby Lick)

Jets had long been friends with the Bolton sons. Jets is just his nickname, you don't know his real name. Even when he heard of them becoming the Street Sharks, he wanted to stick with them. But Paradigm had him captured and turned into a mutated orca and was named Moby Lick. Paradigm drugged him to make himself compliant and destroy the Street Sharks. But when the drug wore off after several fights, he joined the Street Sharks and became their fifth member. Like the Street Sharks, Moby Lick is characterized by physical strength and teeth, but he has a long, powerful tongue (hence his name) and can suck in several liters of water through his blowhole and shoot at his opponents as a fountain.

Melvin Kresnick (Rox)

Melvin Kresnick was a rock star whose fame was slowly beginning to fade. He retired to an old hotel to be to himself. By unfortunate coincidence he ate popcorn that was prepared with Paradigm mutant formula, but also the salt mix that was prepared with Bolton's antidote. In his sleep he turned into a mutated bull shark , but when he saw himself in that form that morning he thought it was excellent. In contrast to the Street Sharks, he has a long black mohawk because he used Paradigm's and Bolton's formula at the same time. He saw his mutation as luck and called himself Rox from then on. As Rox, he won the hearts of rock fans. Paradigm wanted to recruit him and use him as a spy against the Street Sharks. But when he met the Street Sharks and gained their trust, he decided not to hand them over to Paradigm. The Street Sharks and Rox managed to prevent the rock fans from being turned into mutants. Rox became a part-time member of the Street Sharks. He would never want to give up his new shape, even if given the chance.

Manta Man

Manta Man is a mutated ray. Looking like a superhero, he fights alongside and joins the Street Sharks.

Enemies

Dr. Luther Paradigm (Dr. Piranoid)

Dr. Paradigm is an unscrupulous scientist who experiments with the DNA of humans and animals. He transformed the sons of his archenemy Dr. Bolton to the Street Sharks to have his own army of mutants. He strives for world domination and in order to achieve this he wants to transform people into mutants who only obey him. He put on strong armor studded with harpoons and grappling hooks. He tried to turn Bends into a mutant piranha , but with the intervention of the Street Sharks, he got the drug himself. In contrast to his mutants and the Street Sharks, he can use his transformation in a controlled manner. This is how he got his name Dr. Piranoid. In later episodes he accidentally injects himself with lizard DNA instead of dinosaur DNA, which is why his powers are a lot weaker than planned.

Slopster

Slopster is a mutant lobster . He is characterized by his sharp scissors, his physical strength and his loyalty to Dr. Paradigm off.

Slash

Slash is a mutated swordfish . He has a rotating drill for a snout, massive muscles, wears a purple leotard and is Dr. Loyal to Paradigm.

Repteel

Repteel was a person who volunteered by Dr. Mutate paradigm. He used to be a hotel owner who didn't have many visitors. It was in this very hotel that Melvin Kresnick's mutation took place. His hotel was destroyed in a fight between the Street Sharks and Paradigm's mutants. The hotel was all he had left. In order to get revenge on the Street Sharks, he joined Dr. Paradigm without knowing that Paradigm's mutants were involved in the destruction of his hotel. Paradigm combined it with the genetic material of electric eels and moray eels and so the former hotel owner became Repteel. As a Repteel, he can fire live spears that are electrically charged.

Killamari

Killamari is a mutated ten-armed squid . It has the ability to fire highly toxic harpoons from its mouth and suction cups.

Shark bot

Shark Bot was invented by Paradigm to destroy the Street Sharks. You can only see him in two episodes in the series. The Shark Bot has a cloaking device: it can fold out a shark mask from its upper jaw so that it looks like a Street Shark on the surveillance cameras. In one episode, an army of Shark Bots appears from the future, but it doesn't look like the original Shark Bot.
