Strike (bowling)

Spelling of a strike and counting method

In bowling, the strike is a throw result in which all ten pins are knocked over with the first of two throws in a frame. There are 10 points for a strike, plus the points from the next two throws. The second throw of the frame then no longer has to be carried out. As a general abbreviation, the strike is an X.

Successive strikes

Two strikes in a row are commonly known as a double . If a player throws three strikes in a row, he scores a turkey . It is generally accepted that the word “bagger” can be added to any number of consecutive strikes - five strikes in a row would be a 5-bagger , ten strikes a 10-bagger . In addition, six consecutive strikes are sometimes called a Wild Turkey (for two Turkeys in a row) and nine Golden Turkey (for three consecutive Turkeys ).

If twelve strikes are thrown in a row in a game, you achieve a perfect game with a maximum of 300 points.
