Current flow

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term current flow is colloquially understood as the electrons flowing in an electrical conductor .

However, since this already represents the definition of the electric current and this is already flowing , such a wording, together with similar expressions such as "the current flows", is a tautology and can therefore be dispensed with.

Note: In the world of terms used in field theory , the flow of electrical charges in an electrical conductor is referred to as the flow of current , even if this term represents a tautology (pleonasm).
