Succentor

Succentor is the name for a church music office.

In medieval cathedrals, this office was held by an often academically trained musician. In Protestant school choirs it designates the representative and assistant of the choir director .

Succenteur (gall.) Succentor (lat.) Is called the sub = Cantor at some cathedral churches in France . Otherwise it also means a bassist ”.
