The German Society for Addiction Psychology eV (dg sps), based in Cologne, is a non-profit association and was founded in 2000. President of the company has been Dr. Gallus Bishop (University of Lübeck).

tasks and goals

Among other things, the association wants to improve training and further education in addiction psychology and intensify psychologically oriented addiction research on the etiology, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of addiction disorders and improve the professional exchange of views. For this find u. a. regular meetings with the Chamber of Psychotherapists take place. In alternation with DG-Sucht, the association organizes the annual German Addiction Congress and regularly organizes thematic specialist conferences as well as an annual thematic meeting of leading psychologists in addiction treatment. The German Society for Addiction Psychology is a member of the German Central Office for Addiction Issues DHS and the umbrella association of German addiction specialist societies.
