The Sulamani Temple , Sula-mani (No. 748), is a Buddhist temple in Bagan in northern Myanmar . It is located between Old Bagan and the village of Minnanthu and was built around 1183 under King Narapatisithu. It is similar to Thatbinnyu Temple and served as a model for the Htilominlo Temple . Stylistically he is still committed to the Mon type, but already has many characteristics of the Burmese style.

description

There are three terraces on the square substructure, followed by the upper cuboid with four terraces, ending with a Shikhara that was rebuilt after 1990 . The corners of the terraces are decorated with small stupas. A large vestibule has been added to the east and smaller ones on the other sides. The massive inner cores of the two floors encircle walkways, on the walls of which you can see paintings, some of which have been preserved, some of which were renewed in the 19th century. Buddha figures sit in niches in the four cardinal directions. The partially well-preserved stucco building decorations and glazed tiles are noteworthy.

The perimeter wall of the temple precinct and its gates are fairly well preserved. Originally monk cells were housed here, so that the Sulamani temple can also be regarded as an important monastery in the Bagan king Narapatisithus.
