Sumio Kobayashi

Sumio Kobayashi ( Japanese 小林 純 生 , Kobayashi Sumio ; born December 29, 1982 in Komono , Mie , Mie , Japan ) is a Japanese composer of contemporary music .

biography

Kobayashi graduated from Hitotsubashi University . Since 1985 he completed a classical training in music with a focus on piano and solfeggio. His teachers include Jōji Yuasa and Hiroyuki Itō . He has won various prizes at the following competitions and festivals: ICOMS 29th International Composition Contest (Italy), Toru Takemitsu Composition Award (Japan), Concours International de Musique de Festival Casals (France), Gyeongsangnam-do Special Prize at the Isang Yun Prize (Korea) , Pablo Casals International Composition Competition and International Composers' Competition of the European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016.

Kobayashi took part in various festivals such as the Takefu International Music Festival, the Tongyeong International Music Festival and the Weimar Spring Days for Contemporary Music.
