SuperSaw

The term SuperSaw is a term for a synthesizer - Waveform used consisting of several stacked and detuned sawtooth is -Schwingungsformen.

The term "SuperSaw" was by the company Roland in 1996 for a new waveform of the synthesizer used "Roland JP-8000" and registered as a trademark.

The supersaw waveform is of great importance for the styles uplifting trance and hands up , also in hardcore techno (main style, especially from the end of the nineties) and crunk (garish) SuperSaw sounds are often used. In addition to the sounds of the Roland TB-303 and Roland TR-909 devices , the Supersaw sound is one of the most style-defining of the genre.

Similar waveforms are also used in synthesizers from other manufacturers. The Recklinghausen-based company Access Music uses a similar form of vibration called “Hypersaw” in its “Virus” synthesizer series.
