Supersport Series 2009/10

The 2009/10 Supersport Series was the 81st season of the national first-class cricket competition in South Africa, formerly known as the Currie Cup, and was held from September 17, 2009 to March 25, 2010. The winners were the Cape Cobras , who won their first first-class title.

format

The teams played two games in each division against each other. A team received 10 points for a win and 6 points for a draw (both teams achieve the same number of runs ). If no result is achieved and the game ends in a draw, both teams get 0 points, if the game is canceled, 5 points. There is also the option of the first 100 overs of the first inningCollect bonus points. One point is awarded for the first 150 runs and 0.02 points for each further run, 1 bowling bonus point is awarded for reaching the 3, 5, 7, 9 wicket. If the game duration is reduced to one day, no bonus points will be awarded. It is also possible that teams are deducted points if, for example, they play too slowly or the pitch is not properly prepared. At the end of the season, the winner of the division is the winner of the championship.
